I created this video with the YouTube Video Editor (http://www.youtube.com/editor)This is how to fix a check engine light for a P0501 Vehicle Speed Sensor/Range Performance- DTC Code. The fix may be easier than mine because my car was a junk car that I had been fixing since I purchased it. My car was hit from the passenger side, and the person who owned my vehicle before me did not know how to fix it, but luckily, I did. The guy who fixed this car obviously wanted to do a cheap job or had no idea what he was doing. The connectors on sensors must have a solid and reliable connection at all times. I hope this helps you! There are no codes in my car anymore and it runs better than ever before. You can purchase this sensor on amazon for $40 dollars. You may not need to use the tape or method I used if your car has a clean title and has never been in a wreck. My car passed inspection today, so I know the job was done correctly.VERY IMPORTANT: Make sure to disconnect the negative terminal first and then positive terminal before messing around with this sensor. When connecting the terminals back, connect the positive first and then negative.
